  6. jpegAGA is, at this time, the highest quality JPEG viewer (if a  map-file  for
  7. that  picture  is  available)  To  use it you need the AGA chipset, a 68020 or
  8. higher processor and OS 3.0  or  higher.  This  program  uses  the  HAM8-mode,
  9. grayscale display will use 256-color-mode.

  11. If a precomputed colormap (a file with the ending .map) is available then  the
  12. picture  will  be  displayed  in  a  much higher quality compared to all other
  13. viewers.

  15. New features in release 2.2:

  17. - higher speed: 20% faster in color mode, 50% in greyscale
  18.   (through the use of a custom chunky to planar routine)
  19. - supports progressive mode JPEG files
  20.   (the first viewer on the Amiga that does so)
  21. - based on IJG JPEG V6 sources
  22. - lot of minor enhancements
  23. - documentation in AmigaGuide format
  24. - no bugfixes (was not able to find one :-)
